Hello everyone! I feel like I have been gone for so long! A lot has been happening here! Our oldest daughter turned 16 on Monday so we went to Disneyland for her Sweet 16! We had a great time in Disneyland and as usual they did not forget to surprise and delight!
Here are some of the places I successfully ate at while we were there! We did bring food with us to eat for breakfast at the hotel since it had a small kitchen. I also packed apples and almond butter, nuts, kind bars etc for snacking!
Gluten Free in Disneyland
1. Blue Bayou Disneyland-
We ate here for lunch and it was delicious! They had gluten free rolls that were yummy! It tasted like “regular” oatmeal rolls and I had to reask if they were sure they are gluten free. They were probably GMO but as is most food served in restaurants but they were yummy! The chef came out and asked what he could make for me, not tell me what they had available! I chose the Jambalaya as my meal and it was tasty if you like spicy! My youngest daughter who has gluten sensitivity chose the orange roasted chicken and it was also delicious!
2. Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill-
We ate here for supper and it was great! The chef came out and met with me. He made our food with strict guidelines on how not to cross contaminate! Their portions are huge so my hubby and I shared the chicken tacos with rice and beans. It was perfect! Our youngest daughter had the Roast Chicken with rice, beans and corn tortillas. It was equally as good!
3. Cafe Orleans
We ate here for supper, however they had far fewer choices 🙁 The chef came out to the table and met with us. He made my daughter gf penne pasta with chicken. I chose the Veggie Ragout with chicken and it was good. They did not have any dessert options for gluten free. I chose to get a coffee at a stand instead.. where they had little packages of gluten free brownies and cookies.
4. Carthay Circle- My hubby and I ate here as our special Disneyland date night. Our kiddos had friends with them and wanted to get other food so we sent them on their way! 🙂 At first I was super sad as the server handed me an allergy list of foods to eat. There were only 2 choices and neither really appealed to me at that moment. She must have read my expression because she came back to say that the chef will make me anything I would like to eat as they can modify the recipe. I chose the Pork Chop with Cherry sauce….YUMM! It was ah-mazing! I took half of it home and ate it for breakfast! It was soooo yummy!
I hope that helps you with places to eat at Disneyland! It was a great trip but I am super excited to be home for the rest of 2014!
