Be brave, learn new things, get out of my comfort zone, go on adventures, all things I want to do but we actually took steps to doing them and I am proud of us!
Some days I feel like I am wonder woman and can conquer anything, and other days I don’t feel that same confidence. This past weekend I was brave. It did help that I had my adoring husband by my side to make me feel secure, but I defiantly had to learn this (even though we studied together) and be able to perform on my own. We decided to be brave and take the first step towards our dream of sailing off into the sunset. We took our ASA 101 sailing classes! We learned over 300 new terms, sailed Man over board (MOB) drills, learned the points of sail, among lots of other things! I had to be brave and drive the boat. Drive being the operative word. There was a tiller and sails. No wheel to turn and go the direction you want. Pray for wind and that I can remember the tiller works in the opposite direction of where I want to go! Now to practice practice practice!
We have a few years until we are empty nesters, which is crazy to even say, so we thought we would start learning how to sail and practice our skills while our girls finish high school and go onto university. Another great moment that occurred this weekend, was that our oldest daughter decided to attend Arizona State University in the fall! I am so proud of her and excited to see what life has to hold for her. Also super happy that she will be close to home. 🙂% | % | % | %
