We (my husband and I) joined Dr. Kevin Wall on his unplugged healthcast and got to talk about gluten and how it affects people’s health, and what it is like to live gluten free.

Who is Dr. Kevin Wall and why is his podcast unplugged?

Dr. Kevin Wall is the co-owner of AFC Chiropractic and the host of the Unplugged Healthcast. He believes in natural medicine and preventive measures, so western medicine is used when absolutely needed.

The Unplugged Healthcast aims to clarify the complexities of today’s healthcare system and address the growing prevalence of chronic illness.

Why was I invited to be on the Unplugged Healthcast?

I have known Dr. Wall for over 25 years, and he has watched our family go through the process of me not feeling well to getting diagnosed with Celiac, and our whole family changing the way we eat and live our lives. You can read more about my journey to getting diagnosed with Celiac Disease here.

Here’s what I learned from being on this podcast:

  1. Get the list of questions ahead of time- I was happy to have the list of questions ahead of time so I could prepare my answers, but some of the questions were not on the list (which is ok), and I am comfortable being on camera/on air, so I hope my answers came out clearly but I like to be prepared.
  2. Wear clothes that cover you- I was expecting the video to be from the waist up, so I definitely would have worn longer shorts had I known. Sorry, my bad- wardrobe malfunction.
  3. It was a reminder to be an advocate for yourself- It was a good reminder to be an advocate for yourself and your health. If you don’t feel well and want to find out why, don’t give up trying until you find the right provider and the right team to achieve your goals!

Why should you give it a listen:

I think there is always room in the gluten-free space to learn something new or hear a different perspective. I hope you give the podcast a listen and are able to grab a new morsel of information that will help you on your gluten free journey! I know my opinion about the food we eat is not always popular with everyone; however, I do believe that overly processed foods can add to health problems. IMO, just because something is gluten free does not make it healthy to eat. You can listen to Dr. Wall’s perspective on healthy eating as well.
